Mary Diggin is an artist, web designer, potter, writer, Sweat Lodge Water Pourer and Deep Imagery Guide who currently lives in New Mexico, USA. A talented amateur chef, she fullly uses all her skills in providing meals during the Vessel & the Voice each year. She also shares sweat lodge duties for the workshop with Felipe.
Born in Ireland, she moved to New Mexico in 1998, where she lives with her husband, E.S. Gallegos on the Rio Grande, in the Embudo area where they run Deep Imagery workshops and also work with people on an individual basis through Imagery.
Mary has a background in Education (B. Ed) and Religious studies (Diploma from the Mount Oliver Institute) and is also trained in massage, Deep Imagery (Personal Totem Pole Process) & web and graphic design. She is recognized as a trainer with the International Institute for Visualization Research .
She was taught to be a Water Pourer (sweatlodge leader) in the Apache Two Spirit Tradition by Apache medicine man, Felipe Ortega and is fortunate to come from a culture that used its own sweat houses up until the 1940's and that has documented evidence of the use of sweat houses in healing ritual: tigh 'n allais, in manuscripts dating back over 1000 years.
