For all you animalcrackers, animalworks and PTPP aficionados:
The festival of the Animals 2009 will take place July 28 to August 1, 2009 at Mormon Lake Lodge near Flagstaff, AZ. It is easy to get flights to Phoenix from Albuquerque so some of you coming to this workshop may consider staying on for the Festival. It is also possible to drive there, taking in some of the other sights of New Mexico and Arizona (Canyon de Chelly, Acoma Sky city etc.) as you go.
The Festival will start on Tuesday, July 28 with dinner and end the Festival on Saturday, August 1 with lunch. We will be able to stay over night on Saturday and check out on Sunday, August 2. It will be near Flagstaff, AZ at Mormon Lake Lodge (www.mormonlakelodge.com for info).
Mormon Lake Lodge is in a beautiful valley surrounded by Ponderosa pine forest. It has hiking trails, horseback riding, trout fishing,a Buffalo habitat, mountain bikes to rent, and great motel like rooms with queen beds and bathrooms. They have a good restaurant which will provide our meals and a saloon too.
We are planning a day excursion to the Grand Canyon for those who want to see it and a Saturday afternoon trip to Sedona for a visit to a vortex or two with shopping thrown in. There are lots of activities for kids (we will plan a program for kids if we have children register). Tent and RV camping is also available (Tent camping will be a considerable saving too).
Don't forget - Save the dates July 28 to August 2 for the Festival and fun with the animal crackers.
